Zeke 's Swaddling Cloth
Zeke 's Swaddling Cloth
There in the village of Rurka Kalan , Tehsil Phillaur, District Jullunder, Punjab State in India, my ancestors grew cotton on their farms.

Kartar Kaur Sandhu my Grandmother used the cotton to make it into yarn,

She dyed some portion of the yarn as black.

She used the yarn to make a small blanket on a hand loom. The design was a black and white check, this was as per her oral knowledge from her ancestors. The year was 1953.

The blanket was made as a swaddling cloth for Sarabjit Sandhu born in May 24th 1953 at Rurka Kalan.

Now this is being used, 72 years later as Zeke Sandhu's swaddling cloth.

This swaddling cloth was weaved 72 years ago by his Great Grandmother. Great Grand Mother Kartar Sandhu ; Grand Mother , Manjit Sandhu ; Mother , Ayleen Shulz-Sandhu. This will passed on to his son as a family heirloom.
